Dear Revolutionary Love Community,

On April 5th, more than 1,200 events erupted across the country to rise against authoritarianism. Organizers estimate millions participated.

For perspective, the largest single-day protest in U.S. history was the Women’s March on January 21, 2017, which saw just over 1% of the population take to the streets at over 680 events. This is historic!

I joined the electrifying crowd in downtown Chicago, surrounded by over 30,000 people. Before I left, I printed two signs. The first read:

“Revolutionary Love is the Call of Our Times.”

Standing among signs filled with rage and urgency, I began to feel nervous. I wondered if my message of love seemed naive. But then something beautiful happened: people began asking to take pictures of my signs.

I realized that standing in love—especially when it feels vulnerable—is an act of courage. And courage is contagious. Love is contagious.

As the protest came to a close, someone approached me and said:

I have seen so many signs today, and yours is the most important one here. We all need this reminder.”

He was referring to my second sign:

“We are the majority. We must act like the majority.” – Valarie Kaur

That moment affirmed what I already knew: Revolutionary Love is not passive. It’s fierce. It’s powerful. And we do have power. We are the majority. It’s how we resist authoritarianism and reclaim our future.

And I wasn’t alone. Across the country, others carried signs of Revolutionary Love too (see above!).

Together, we were not just marching—we were bearing witness to a growing movement rooted in love.

This newsletter is full of stories from others rising up in love. Let them remind you: you’re not alone.

 fresh stART project

A collaborative artwork created by 31 women from 12 states, ages 22 to 80—many of them strangers when they began—has become an opportunity to co-create meaningful discussions of transformation.

Over three years, they transformed 63 repurposed cardboard squares into one unified piece celebrating healing, resilience, and hope.

Born from a single prompt—“What does a fresh start mean to you?”—their work became a powerful visual testament to the courage to begin again amidst adversity. Using diverse materials and stories, they turned grief into purpose, offering a heartfelt invitation to rise, reflect, and build community.

This is Revolutionary Love: creative, courageous, and rooted in deep solidarity.

The Love Network

This movement began when founder Juliette Looy was seeking relief from grief, rage and division in the world, chose love as her antidote. What started with making and distributing handmade cards and small rose-quartz hearts at home has since grown into a global act of kindness—with over 1,000 hearts shared in 32 states and 18 countries.

Each heart is a reminder that love is not only a feeling, but a daily practice. This is Revolutionary Love in action: simple, tender acts of love that transform despair into connection—one heart at a time.

The fastest way to change the state of the world is to change my state of mind. So, now, love is my superpower! Love is the paintbrush I use to SEE love, BE love, and SPREAD love wherever I go.”

“do not be afraid of the darkness surrounding you

the darkness of the tomb is the darkness of the womb”

Created by our fellow Revolutionary Love Tour artists, this song honors a Sufi mystic who transcended all religious boundaries and called us to Oneness. It’s a call to mystical love — within us and around us.

Visit our learning hub here for tools to lead with wonder, be brave with our grief, harness our rage, reimagine institutions, practice joy, and fight for our humanity. There, you can listen to Valarie walk you through the Revolutionary Love Compass and explore reflections to meet this moment.
