Dear Revolutionary Love Community,

“Have you seen them?” I was told something surprising was popping up all over the Westside of LA. So we took our children on a walk in our neighborhood and…THERE THEY WERE.

Street signs (above) with my words on them: “Revolutionary Love is the call of our times.

I was floored. I knew our movement was real — spreading from city to city, school to school, heart to heart. But to SEE these words in the street felt like magic — like we have the power to reshape the world around us.

My children’s eyes grew big as they spotted the signs — and they shouted in glee! They are everywhere. On sidewalks. On beach trails. At Venice Dell, where we are fighting for a housing project for our unhoused neighbors.

These signs are declarations of our humanity. They are also bold invitations: What would our neighborhoods look like if we chose care over punishment, interdependence over alienation? Futures rooted in love — not fear.

They put a radical truth rise on our horizons: We belong to one another. In a time of authoritarian forces, cruelty and chaos, this truth is revolutionary.

Every morning, before I begin my work, I take a daily walk just to go visit the signs, and remind myself I’m not alone. We are not alone. Revolutionary Love — the choice to see no stranger, to leave no one outside our circle of care — IS the call of our times.

To all the street artists, sidewalk poets, and love disruptors out there — we SEE you and we LOVE you! Thank you for bringing Revolutionary Love to the streets!

Tiny Prayer Space

In the wake of devastating loss in Israel and Palestine, Phoenix artist and environmentalist Joan Baron turned to art as a way to grieve, to honor, and to love.

Tiny Prayer Space is a durational, immersive art practice in which one clay bead is made for every life lost since October 2023. Community members have joined Joan in creating over 5,000 porcelain beads so far, with the intention to continue until each life is remembered.

Listen to Joan’s interview with KJZZ about the origins of this project.

Bead making is one of the oldest art forms of record…As a ritual you would wear beads during ceremony. Love was a huge component in the evolution of choosing the beads because you don’t make beads to express anger, you make beads to express love in some form or another

This is Revolutionary Love in action: grieving together and taking courageous action rooted in our deepest humanity.
