A transformative event series across the United States igniting people to rise up in love and courage.

In the thick of a divisive era, the Revolutionary Love Tour travels across the country to energize hearts, build community bonds, and ignite courageous action rooted in love. Led by visionary civil rights leader Valarie Kaur, the tour uplifts stories and wisdom that empower us to play our role in this moment in history. Each event is free and open to all.

What is this experience?

Welcome to an immersive experience of storytelling, music, song, ancestral wisdom, and community-building. At the heart of every event, Valarie Kaur and fellow artists tell stories of how their ancestors survived seemingly apocalyptic times. You will hear stories that crack open our hearts – stories of hope and healing, love and courage. You will leave with tools to lead with Revolutionary Love in your daily life.

On many stops, audiences will experience original music by acclaimed singer-trumpeter Sonny Singh from his new album Sage Warrior (2024) accompanied by legendary rabab player Qais Essar and scholar-musician Dr. Nirinjan Kaur Khalsa, the first female exponent of the jori drumming tradition.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

Everyone is welcome! All ages and demographics. Together, we uplift local stories of revolutionary love in action. All participants go home with the Revolutionary Love Compass – an evidence-based tool that teaches how to be brave with grief, harness rage, listen across differences, and fight for humanity. So that you can build beloved community wherever you are.

Why Now?

In this critical moment, as atrocities besiege our world daily, we need what Dr. King calls a “revolution of values.” We believe the love ethic is essential to birthing a healthy, multi-racial democracy and sustainable planet. Revolutionary Love is the call of our times – the choice to leave no one outside our circle of care.

WHAT’S YOUR STORY

At every stop on the tour, we share stories of Revolutionary Love. Our prompt: When did an act of love change everything? You are invited to write your story down in a love letter. View our archive of stories and submit yours here.

Yes, we welcome an intergenerational space. Children are welcome under adult care. When deciding whether to bring your child, discern whether they are ready to experience a 2-3 hour show. IMPORTANT: The stories and conversation on stage will address difficult subjects about injustice. There will also be moments of joyful music, including a picture book song. Each family is encouraged to make a plan that supports their child’s development and allows everyone to fully enjoy the experience.

We ask that devices are stored away during the on-stage portion of the experience, so that we may be fully present with one another. We encourage you to take photos and videos before and after the on-stage show and share freely! Use the hashtag #RevolutionaryLove and tag @revloveproject and @valariekaur.

“An absolutely beautiful experience! The musical performance woven with storytelling was an absolute honor to receive—it felt so generous and sacred. The way they harnessed storytelling to engage in sensemaking, culminating into practice with the Revolutionary Love Compass, was so skilled and powerful. It felt magical and important. The impact of the experience will be rippling out in our community and beyond for years to come.”
